Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

i move around different placements doing different commercial roles within the business learning how different parts of the business functions giving a good overall knowledge of the different departments and learning and developing to allow myself to be best placed to get a job at the end of my apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy my programme a lot it provides a lot of opportunities at work with new learning and also provides a lot of support for work and university and allows me to feel support and get easy access to help making the apprenticeship a very enjoyable experience for work and university.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

yes i have learnt many new skills relating to work and gaining experience in this. i have learnt many skills that will help me in future jobs and many commercial skills. i have also learnt personal skills that will help me in general life or work. meaning i had a good range of new and developing skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

due to the programme restarting after being put on hold due to COVID-19 parts were less structured at the start with small amounts of confusing but as it becomes more recognised in the departments it will allow it to be better organised and structured. overall it is still well organised and is getting even better for the next cohort.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i receive a lot of support by being assigned an apprentice development lead, an apprentice/academic mentor and a workplace mentor all helping me to achieve in different aspects of my apprenticeship and all supporting me throughout. a very good support system. i also have other apprentices on my course allowing us to share experiences.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i am assigned an academic mentor from my university who holds scheduled meetings quarterly. and the individual topics of the course have drop in sessions for the different assignments allowing us to get help. they also respond to any emails within 48 which makes them easy to access and allows for quick help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it is made to give you experiences and learning about different parts of business which means they all help you to understand a business. some can very specifically link to your placement, job or tasks that you are currently working on. it also allows you to gain knowledge of new departments that you may join in the future
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

yes there is a range of different activities to get involved in with different groups allowing you to better enjoy your job. there are a lot of networking events and it is very easy to find ways to network with others the company promotes things like this which is goof for staff

Why?
It is a good, supportive company that pushes you to develop and improve. all staff are very respectful and helpful in supporting each other and are focused on the business achieving but also the health and mental health of all employees. making it good job that promotes a healthy way of living
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
make use of information on the internet to understand key parts of the business allowing you to progress quicker at the start of the role and take any training or learning offers that they have so that your understand can increase and that you can better develop and be seen as an important and dedicated employee
