Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
I am responsible for the safety of customers and staff members ensuring we create a fast and friendly service while making sure the restaurant is clean and well kept, I have other responsibilities such as the safe which involves a lot of money. I also ensure to push targets and make sure staff are using correct procedures throughout.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy the program as it does give me that extra bit of knowledge that I want, it teaches me what kind of management styles are in practice and how to utilise them. It also teaches me to prioritise certain things before others such as safety of others and the health and safety of the restaurant

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, I have developed my confidence and people skills as this was something I lacked in before, I have also improved my knowledge on the management styles figuring out which one suits me better to develop myself and the people I work with, I have also learnt a lot of office based things such as sales labour, food and utility costs etc

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The program is well structured as it is set into months so you can’t fall too far behind unless you have no time to do it, we have monthly progress reviews so we can then ask our coach any questions we may have and ensure that we are on the right track
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
We do receive support from our employer as while doing the apprenticeship we are clocked in at work and also get to borrow a laptop from work, sometimes we do have to remind them that we need apprenticeship time but once this is done it gets seen to right away
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider as we keep in contact and if we have any questions they get answered almost straight away, they encourage me to work towards my goals and they let me know if there is something that needs to be completed if I haven’t yet done so
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
This qualification definitely helps me to perform better in my role as it gives me an insight to certain business needs but also helps to adjust your management style if need be, helps to motivate your staff and keep the morale high at work and also helps to know what the food cost and utilities cost because we can then try to prevent this
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, there are lots, we do a litter pick for the community, have lots of crew events such as bingo nights and sports days, we also have the McCup which is football and involves a few different stores at McDonald’s, also we have dress down days dress up days and it is all for rmhc

Recommendations & Advice

Yes
Why?
Because the pay is good, the morale is high and the job is quite simple once you have an idea of it, they offer really good benefits such as cycle to work scheme, private health care, a points system that allows you to eat whilst your at work, employee assistance program etc
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
McDonalds isn’t a bad place to work there are lots of benefits to the job including promotions to crew trainer and manager, the pay is really good compared to minimum wage and the management try to help you where they can, you will be trained and shown what to do
