Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves taking on new people and training them up so they can work on their own without support. I make sure the trainee become comfortable with their surroundings and gets to know all the tiny details about their job. I also do socs for crew so that they are able to identify where they need help and what they are great at!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my apprenticeship as it is a relaxing hour where I can sit and chat to someone without being stressed that a customer has been waiting to long on their order. I enjoy my teacher as she is really kind and likes to have a chat about the course in a positive way and doesn’t make me feel bad for not knowing the answer.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Through my apprenticeship I’ve learnt more in depth details on how I should be on my shifts. This includes how regularly I should wash my hands, food beside a full bun could lead to cross contamination and so on. I think through this I’ve created a sense of time management due to having my assignments done for a certain date and time.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship teacher is super organised. She’s always ready for the “lesson” and never comes in late, in fact she’s usually quite early. She brings a diary that she writes everything down in like who she’s teaching and where she needs to go and what date and time. She’s honestly amazing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is amazing. She acknowledges the potential in crew and lets them be aware of how great they are with star of the shift or crew of the week/ month. She has supported me through my apprenticeship and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have known about it. She always leaves a great comment after each session.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
She congratulates me and asks for updates on how I’m getting on with the courses and always offers up help if I need it. She tells me that she is proud of how organised I am for each session with my homework and is always so happy and upbeat when she has my lesson.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualifications allow me to train my trainees and give them in depth details on how we should do things and why we do them for. It also made me realise how to interact better with customers eg. with a smile and not treating them as an object by calling them a number.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Once a month we would have social events such as a dog walk day where we bring our dogs to the local park and have some lunch, escape rooms, nights out and bowling with which is a mutual agreement with all staff. There’s is also football tournaments where we compete against other stores.
