Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My roles includes personal care, Meal preparation, Mobility assistance, Medication support, domestic duties,
transfers, shopping. I provide care for service users and promote their well being and independence. I safeguard, report any concerns and make sure they are in a safe environment. I work with people with Learning difficulties, Dementia and various other illnesses and disabilities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme very much. My tutor has adjusted our online classes to suit my learning needs. The course itself is very insightful and relevant to my role. I enjoy learning new information and getting a deeper understanding on topics I may have had basic knowledge on. I enjoy the support available to me from my tutor.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I developed my existing skill of interacting. I work with service users of all backgrounds. Particularly I’ve gained more experience with people with Learning disabilities. I have been able to adapt my communication to suit the service user’s communication needs. I find through more experience with people with Learning disabilities, I’m developing and learning new techniques.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
In my opinion the Programme is structured very well. I feel I have sufficient time between my online lessons to do assignments. The delivery of the work and how everything is formatted makes it relatively easy to understand. Also if there is anything I have difficulty with there are guides and my tutor is always at hand to help me navigate.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As an organisation on a whole, my employer and designated staff are at hand to help if I need it. My branch manager and field supervisor are very supportive and always check my progress. They arrange my work schedule in a way where I have enough time to do my studies and should any extra need arise they make adjustments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive ample support from my training provider. Not only does my tutor make sure the content I need is readily available to me. But also I receive newsletter on safeguarding for example which is very useful as it keeps me updated and makes me aware of extra relevant information.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe that this qualification better equips me for my role. Example I am learning the laws and regulations in more depth so it helps me deal with situations better and never work outside of the scope of my role. This qualification also reinforces my responsibilities to the service user and I can give accurate information if needed.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
There are no social activities, sports team or professional networking events that I know of at my work. I work in domiciliary homecare so the only contact I have with other co-workers are our I go to the office or I see other carers as I am travelling to the service user. It would be nice to have an extra curricular activity that involved work staff.
