Associate within the Audit line of service. Auditing of client's financial statements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy working with my peers and having a large intake of people of a similar age to go through the scheme together with. The work is enjoyable however can be stressful and hard work at times.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

A thorough understanding of accounting framework's and standards that businesses need to comply. Also skills in software such as Excel and Alteryx.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very, tuition is done via Kaplan and the courses are structured well. The integration between study and work could improve however.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Financial support in terms of funding for the tuition and exams. Also supported through the ICAEW apprenticeship and programmes are in place to ensure learning occurs.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot, the in college days are useful. Tutors are very friendly and always on hand to help. The out of hours support is very useful as well when revising on weekends.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Very - in terms of accounting based exams such as FAR/CR.
Other exams are less relevant, mainly those law / tax based as these are not relevant to my day to day job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are small groups set up by people within the firm, but nothing sponsored by the firm.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be aware of the working hours / culture before joining. If your heart is not in it you will struggle.
