Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:

Involved three online sessions and two in day sessions where we learnt about human capital, technology, sustainability, work ethics and culture within aon and much more. It was a full office day where we had some sessions listening to others speak and some where we could work as a team.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?

i emjoyed the work experience bery much s it gave me the opportunity to network with other people across london and form new friendships with others. It was also very fun as we learnt about topics that i have never heard about before and understoon the cultire of working in an office
How well organised was your work experience?

the work experience was quite well organised. However it wouldve been better the whole five days was in person as speaking from a screen sometimes lef to technical difficulties and it was quite awkward to get to know eachother whilst online compared to in real life but overall was organised well
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?

in the beginning of the programme was quite unsure if where i wanted to work but during the programme realised that working in a financial firm such as AON compared tk a bank/investment bank would be better suited to my interests and wants in a career however still unsure on specific job
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?

i was not paid and since i was sick i didnt go to the in real life days so didnt need reimbursement fir travel but i know other who were reimbured which was good since a lot of people came from working class backgrounds and travel to central london is expensive
Skills Development
What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?

it helped me work on my communication with others which was especially hard to do online with mainly people i had never met before, also helped presentation skills as we had to quickly form,practise and present on a topic from one of our sessions which was very fun to do

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?

learnt a lot about the cultire in the company. was suprised to hear that insurance companies that usually have a dull stereotype have fun sports competitions with other teams and have celebrations for various cultires and religions amd are accepting of different views. Sounded like an enjoyable place to work
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?

there was a whole entire session for networking with employees and other people. also after the event lots of people from the programme had networked through linked in which was noce. however would be better if all days were in person as networking woukd be easier through person to person talking

was very fun and an enjoyable experience. it also provided me career advice and an idea of what type of career i would like to do in the future. it suto helps you build many employable skills for future careers and is a great thing to add on to your cv
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
i would advise people to have an open mind and make the most out of the experience. be socialable with others and make the most out of networking ad it will help with future work experiences or internships when in university or later in sixth form. also make sure to have fun
