Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a client management analyst, the main role involves preparing for meeting cycles (4x annually for most clients), completing statutory returns & notices for the Regulator and dealing with any ad-hoc issues for the client such as individual member cases or complaints.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
This programme has been an enjoyable, informative experience that has opened me up to the world of Corporate management, not just in the pensions industry. It has opened many new pathways and doors to go down and increased my network of like-minded professionals.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Communication, organisation & time management have been the skills most improved over the course of the Apprenticeship. Presenting at client meetings early on in the role boosted my confidence in public and professional speaking. Liaising with external teams improved my time & project management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well-structured throughout, with Davies in regular communication the closer to end-point you get.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
AON have been an immense support from the start, actively hosting training sessions for new joiners and encouraging existing colleagues to join/present.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
They set up workshops in preparation for the exam and refer you to any relevant study material, however the main bulk of the preparation is down to you and your own discipline to study.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Studying for the PMI has boosted my performance in the workplace as it gives me the knowledge to understand more about the work I'm completing, the background & the regulatory impact on the Trustees.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, many. Activities include regular socials, month end socials, football, summer BBQ's, end of year parties, and so forth.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
Be confident, research Aon and it's solution lines and decide which takes your pick, then research the study material for that particular solution line.
