Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Engineering technician - Maintain equipment in a safe and timely manner within Aseptic and sterile conditions. Ordering spare parts and consumables and managing 3rd parties on site.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

As I am just starting the programme, it is hard to say, however, the thought of learning new skills that will help me personally and the people around me grow and inspire change, is exciting.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt so much since starting at AstraZeneca. New skills include, how to work in Aseptic/sterile conditions, health and wellbeing, championing role as well as up-skilling my previous skills as an engineer.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme seems very well organised, easy to follow with clear instructions, as well as great support from tutors and coaches.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support from my employer is second to none, I am lucky to be apart of AZ and to have the resources around me to develop as an engineer and as a person.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training providers are always at the end of a call or email and promptly get back to me with advice and or suggestions.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps with reducing my stress levels, dealing with others around me and also I am able to help and guide others who need help going forward. The new qualification shows me an insight into managing myself and others.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

LOADS!! at AstraZeneca, we have away days for team building and engagement, as well as team building exercises or team meals and drinks. We have a 5 aside football pitch on site and a gym and we have access to beautiful works in and around our site.
