Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working alongside engineers in a commercial building. This would include the maintenance of the building such as electrical mechanical HVAC controls water treatment of the building itself. I would use the knowledge that I have gained from college in order to allow myself to work competently and correctly at work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It was a good college and an overall good experience where it allowed me to develop new skills in many different ways.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, I have learnt a lot of engineering skills which I will use in my everyday life and at work. I would use the knowledge that I have gained from college in order to allow myself to work competently and correctly.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Good structure, good organisation.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Great support from my manager and good support from my engineers and my engineering supervisor at my workplace. The staff and tutors at the college were also very helpful and supported all of the tasks that I needed to carry out to enable me to become a qualified engineer today.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helped me to become better at my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
No, I don’t carry out any extra curricular activities for my company, I would like to in the future when I have a higher status in my business as I believe this is the time for education and developing as an engineer instead of focusing on other sectors of the business.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend CBRE Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Very good company, good pay, with use of overtime and bonuses to top up your pay at the end of the month. I have already recommended my company CBRE to my friends, who are also looking into getting into engineering as a full time career and to develop in the future.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CBRE Group?
Get your head down at college and don’t waste time there, this was a hard qualification to gain and if you miss something it will always come back to bite you, where you will be forever chasing and catching up with assignments and home work, keep head down and always ask questions.
