Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Maintenance and repair of manufacturing, utilities and lab equipment. This also includes maintenance and management of IT systems. Within this role there are a lot of other activities which incudes investigations and problem solving. This is where the data analysis apprenticeship is very useful.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed the challenge of programming and discovering the possibilities of using Python. It has been a good learning experience so far and i expect that to continue throughout the course
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt programming skills on Python and have further developed my analytical skills. I am now able to perform meaningful analysis on data used in my department in order to make improvements in our maintenance activities.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course is well organised and the content is all reasonably easy to navigate on the canvas and bud websites. I have not has any major issues since the start of the program.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer gives me the time and flexibility to complete the coursework. I also get support with access to data in order to complete my portfolio work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have not required any extra support from my training provider yet, but I know that If I am stuck on anything that I have support from the decoded team and from my mentor.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am moving from exclusively using excel for any analysis and visualisations to using Python and this enables me to really customize and automate my analysis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am a member of the IET so I can attend their events. There are also a lot of engineering networks within AstraZeneca.

Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a good place to work. There is a real variation in work and lot expected of us as employees, but we are well supported and compensated. There is also a good atmosphere and culture which provides a healthy working environment which reduces stress.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
My advice would be to use the opportunity to really apply yourself and learn as much as possible.
