Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Varies from day to day, typical tasks involve: working on reports, creating maps in GIS, screening and analysing data, team meetings, role specific training. These tasks can also vary depending on the specialist team that I am in at the time.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy it, but balancing work and uni can be difficult at times. I have found that I get lots of support from my workplace when I need it which is really helpful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have both learnt and developed many skills through my role. I have been given work that challenges me and this has encouraged me to grow. I am also encouraged to take part in training that may be helpful to my role or peak my interest.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is clear that there is a lot of time invested in ensuring the programme is beneficial for my learning at work and it feels well thought through.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is a lot of support. People are very friendly and always willing to help. Line managers are also very good at providing support on all aspects of the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
There is lots of support available and lecturers are willing to help wherever they can with assignments or lecture material.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
So far I think that the qualification has provided a good background to global environmental issues but is not so applicable to my specific job role. Future modules are likely to relate more closely but I also think that the topics covered keep doors open for future roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes lots! There are sports teams and lots of other groups to join. There are also regular team socials and lunchtime talks that you can attend.
