Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis, I model 3D structures in Revit. I am in the structural BIM team therefore all modelling I complete is structural building work. I work from engineers mark ups and follow them to create 3D models.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme and feel I learn a lot in my job role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since joining, I have learnt new skills such as using software such as Autodesk Revit, GSA, BIM360, Microsoft software. I have developed skills such as communication and confidence as I speak to various people in person or on the phone on a day to day basis.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very structured, I attend college one day a week and go to work the other 4 days of the week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer and they are very flexible and understanding of my apprenticeship and if I have deadlines at college that I have to complete and require extra time such as study leave. I also have regular catch up meetings to discuss workload.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lots of support from Stegta and have monthly meetings to check that I am on track with my apprenticeship and am working towards completing my EPA. They are very quick at replying to emails and always help and guide in the right direction.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification gives me a broad knowledge of engineering whereas my work in specialised to my particular job role. It means that I can get a feel for different aspects of engineering.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are extra curricular activities such as whole office or team socials such as meals, golf etc.
We have professional networking events where we meet other young professionals from different companies.
We also have sports teams such as football and work ski trips.

I would recommend Arup to a friend because they are a very inclusive company that are very flexible with working hours as we have FlexiHours.

A piece of advice I would give to others is to be yourself, stay motivated and do your best.
