Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day-to-day, I carry out DMPK assays in the lab. I also carry out general lab based tasks and housekeeping as well as supporting instrument use. I also manage my project - giving DMPK advice and expertise, reporting data and presenting data. I also work on an external committee for DMPK.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do enjoy my programme, although it is quite stressful and full on. Covering my day to day job alongside the programme is strenuous but rewarding.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have gathered scientific writing and presenting skills. I have developed my communication skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme is structured to an extent but could be organised in a more effective way.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive excellent support from Charles River.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I have received mixed support from the University of Kent. In year 1, I was not supported or shown the best ways to cover all of the content which has led to a heavily loaded 2nd year. My apprenticeship advisor left and was not replaced for a considerable amount of time - but my current apprenticeship advisor is really attentive and supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
There is a lot of content which is really useful in my day-to-day role and is applicable to my area of work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are social events, work based events and volunteer days. There are also ample opportunities for attending networking events and conferences. As well as lots of personal development opportunities available.
