Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as a GIS Analyst is to assess spatial data. This can be visualisations in a mapping software called ArcGIS Pro to Spatial data manipulation in a software called FME.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme, I feel supported by both my workplace and company. I get help whenever I cannot solve a business problem and learn for the future as a result.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a range of skills. I have learnt how to use a range of different softwares to complete different tasks. I have also learnt behavioural skills such as networking and presenting in a workplace.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well organised, I have frequent check ins with both my college coach and my line manager. This constant communication means that my college experience is shaped to make me more efficient in the workplace and be prepared for upcoming projects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a good amount of support from my employer, I have a support network of colleagues, so I know who to approach for specific problems to get the best help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support. I am encouraged to take extra qualifications in any relevant software.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification is broader than my job role, as it is a Level 4 data analyst qualification. Although difficult to sometimes apply to my niche job role, it is useful to have a broad perspective of the digital world.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Many team and early careers socials. There seemed to be a great number of sports teams pre-Covid but these do not seem to have quite been revived to the level they were before.
