Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
To investigate fraud and interview employees in order to establish the causes of fraud. We also provide a deterrent to the wider organisation to prevent fraud. The employees we interview are also supported after the case in whatever issues in their lives that resulted in them deciding to operate outside the policy of the company.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much so, this is a new experience in terms of the course material being about how internal audit operate and how the wider Company should be operating. As my job role is quite specialised, this gave me a better understanding of my role within the company. It is always nice to be challenged and learn new things

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, many new skills which have resulted in new ways of working and new areas of fraud to look into. I also use the skills I have learnt to help other auditors and impart that knowledge on a regular basis. For example listen skills and blocks is one I can demonstrate.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well, the meetings are always planned in well in advance and are thorough in terms of where I am in my apprenticeship and if I am on track. I am aware of what is required of me in the future and when I need to have those tasks completed by
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer, my line manager is also completing a level 7 apprenticeship course and I am encouraged to convert my learnings into my job role. The team are very receptive to my ideas and I look forward to the time I have in the team meetings to do that
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider is great, they are always there either by phone or e mail and get back to me very quickly. I cant fault them really and as I say I really know what is needed of me and there is no doubt about where we are going in the course,
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think that I am much better at my role now with the learnings from the course. This is because I can look at the organsiation in a wider sense than before and I am opening up to different areas of the business both from an internal audit and fraud perspective
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, I am going to an ORIS forum in the near future which is a risk forum with other types of businesses and I will also learn much more about different sectors. Yes, of course we have team building events when we have team meetings to impart that more social aspect

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Mitchells and Butlers to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think the company really care about what happens to their employees, especially compared to other pub/restaurant chains that I have worked for. The progression and values that are lived by prove that and people are recognised for their good work regularly. Just in my job proves that when we provide further support to fraudulent people to help them get through the reasons why they did it in the first place
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells and Butlers?
I would say that you don't need to prove your skills too much beforehand because the company is an award winning trainer. The qualities that are being looked for are the type of person that you are e.g. open to change or a willingness to challenge yourself and learn new things.
