Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work with colleagues in my area to help provide change to the business. I work with them to ensure that any change that is being put through is beneficial to both them and our customer base. I conduct meetings, write reports, report feedback, work with stakeholders as well as other project managers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme. Like all other jobs, there are days where it is difficult, however on the whole it is excellent. It has provided me with a great knowledge base of how to manage small to medium projects, with the expectation that i will have the ability to manage larger ones in the future.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting my apprenticeship, I have gained a great deal of confidence. I am now much more confident in communicating with people from all areas of the business including senior management. My project management skills have improved as well as my abilities to problem solve and help others with their issues.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is really well organised. The expectations were set out right at the beginning of the timeline and what I was expected to achieve. I was then set mini targets to ensure that I was able to achieve this and have regular meetings with my provider to ensure that i am still on track.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get a great deal of support from my employer. My immediate team take the lead from me, so i let them know what support is needed and they will assist. I get one day a week to complete my programme, which I do not always need, but it is excellent that this time is given to me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My provider has also been great. I have regular meetings with them to ensure that I am still on track to achieve my qualification. Before I sat my exam, I was able to reach out to them and get extra support to assist with studying which was invaluable and helped me pass.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has given me foundation knowledge that has allowed me to perform my role on a daily basis. I have been given the theory and the ability to understand why we do what we do on a daily basis. This has enabled me to pick out things that we could be doing better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of things. We regularly have team outings including dinners and drinks. I recently just organised a volunteering day with my team which was a great success. As we are all still working virtually, we have a weekly break where we get together to discuss work and other stuff that is going on which is extremely helpful from a social aspect.

Why?
Its a very inclusive and welcoming place to work. I am always encouraged to bring my best authentic self to work and am encouraged to give 100% all day. My opinion is always taken seriously even though I am the most junior member of the team. This makes me feel like an extremely valued member of of business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
When applying, be yourself and let your personality shine through on your application. Doing a video application can be daunting, but if you ensure that you are being yourself you will get much further. It really is an inclusive place to work.
