Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
This vacation scheme was held online and we rotated around different departments daily. Over the course of each day we met a range of trainees and associates of all levels, discussing the work they do in their department and introducing us to the firm.
We were set daily tasks that required us to engage with the law throughout, and received feedback on these tasks.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The experience helped me gain a bigger picture of the business and the seats available for a training contract. I enjoyed speaking to a range of trainees in different departments as I went into the week with a set expectation of what I would enjoy, and was surprised by how interesting I found other areas.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed my legal research skills in tasks where we had to look up certain areas of law and apply it to scenarios for clients.
I developed my networking abilities as I actively interacted with a wide range of peers, trainees, and lawyers to make the most of the experience.
I developed my time management skills, as it was a tight turnaround for many of the tasks.

Get to know the culture of the company by looking on their website, speaking to anybody you can who works there, and attending any fairs etc. their Early Careers Team runs. They have a strong company ethos and so understanding this and appealing to it in your application will go a long way.
