Currently with Barclays Finance team. On an every day basis, I manage risk execution and oversight of controls, provide accurate reporting and monitoring of financial information. Supporting portfolios to ensure resources are managed efficiently. I also take action when risk and challenge are known. My job is understanding financial information.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme because I am learning so many things to progress my career and better myself. I am getting a level 4 qualification at no cost, plus a regular wage, have some incentives like holidays, working from home and the flexibility to be with my 2 year old daughter which is the most important of all.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learned how to analyse data, understand technology trends and how we cope as a team with the challenges of technological advances and development. I also learned other soft skills like PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, Navigator. I learned our systems like RAF, SAP, logging benefits, RAID analysis, RAG, change requests, forecasts vs actuals.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
We have a structured programme that starts with an introduction, meet up with the team, coaches, and other apprentices. We have a passport that has a detailed programme, dates, requirements, links for support, phone numbers both for wellbeing, health and work support. We also have a website where we have modules to complete and trainings to support us meet our requirements for the apprenticeship programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer has a dedicated line manager to support me for both my job and apprenticeship. I have a talent coach for my apprenticeship and a Multiverse coach for my learning. Apart from this, I have a coach for Maths and a coach for English functional skills exam. We have learning platforms available to us like a change hub, plural site, plt, learning lab and compliance.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider is Multiverse. I have a dedicated coach that renders trainings for our modules. She sends us email reminders and makes sure we are on board with our OTJT and homework. She always answers my emails if I have any questions. I get lots of support from her.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification will help me perform my role better as my trainings are all relevant to my job in Project technology. Through my apprenticeship programme, I learn Excel skills, Word, writing professional emails, analysing data and many more. I also have soft skills training for better productivity. These are time management, communication skills, health and wellbeing etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we have a lot of extra curricular activities we can find on our Barclays internal website and from our multiverse website. They all vary from charitable works, trainings, commitments, reviews, help in writing CVs, volunteering to paint a school or volunteering from home or on site. We also have learning labs and talks to attend to both from home or remotely.
