Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Auditing, work with different teams on different client engagements
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It is quite enjoyable - it is intense but knowing that you're getting so many exemptions makes it worth it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I knew about things like professional scepticism but after actually being on placement I feel that I also learnt to apply it

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I like the organisation - although I think it could be useful if exams were not so soon after placement ends. This is because we have 2 weeks of intense revision sessions so it could be useful if all of that started a bit later and exams then followed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
It normally depends on the team you are working with. Sometimes, people are supportive, other times it is harder to get along with someone
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I have an academic tutor at the University of Reading who is very helpful
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think as we learn content at Uni, we are able to apply it on placement as placement is straight after it e.g. I felt this the most with my Audit Assurance exam
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
There are but I think they normally happen after my placement ends so I haven't really been able to attend any.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel that working at PwC can expose you to different opportunities within the firm and even if someone decides to leave.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
I think sometimes the busy seasons are underestimated by new joiners but it can get intense sometimes.
