My role involved auditing many different clients alongside my team members and looking at key financial areas such as the company's cash accounts and their annual financial statements. This job involves a lot of productive teamwork and ownership of your own individual areas - taking pride in the work you perform.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme a lot because there is a high degree of satisfaction when you close off tasks that you have performed and there is a great sense of team pride when you sign off an audit and get to celebrate your achievements. I also really enjoy the responsibility that comes with the work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

This job has enabled me to greatly increase my level of confidence levels and has taught me what it is like to work with various different personalities and being adaptable in the way in which you communicate with others. This job has also given me the chance to showcase my business acumen.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say that my programme is very well structured as it combines university and work at the same time, meaning I would get my qualifications faster than going through a more traditional route. This structure also enables me to use my theory learnt in lectures and apply them in the workplace.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a very good amount of support from my employer, from overtime to being paid for my expenses when working outside of my base office in MK. There is also a very good network for wellbeing and general support - with wellbeing sessions being held often. The support I received was very good.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I would say that we receive very good support from our training provider as we receive regular emails from them and participate in monthly wellbeing calls which enable us to voice any concerns that we have about anything. There is a good sense of comfort when attending these wellbeing sessions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My University lectures have really given me the platform I needed to perform well in my job. It has given me the tools to exude my confidence and complete my audit work to a high level. In turn the skills I learnt during my work placement are easily transferrable to my degree.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there were a variety of social activities, such as weekly football games with members from my MK office. There is also table tennis tournaments in which I participated in. We would also have social outings to celebrate our achievements in the workplace - which boosted team morale and enhanced relationships with colleagues.

Why?
Because it enables you to exude your own personality into the work you perform and there is a real sense of togetherness at PwC. PwC also enables you to greatly enhance your professional network, which would open up a number of avenues in the future - greatly helping you out in the future.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
One advice I would give when applying is to always be yourself as your personality will be recognised and accepted and people will really appreciate you for being yourself - whilst also remaining professional. I would also advise that applicants are confident in the way they speak and really do have the business acumen to impress PwC.
