Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
A normal day would look like working with an audit team, performing various audit testing, being coached through tasks, having various catch up calls with the team, updating team on progress of work, asking questions about tasks. This day usually lasts from around 9 am until about half past five.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the work as it is good when you are with a team and you can have a laugh as well as do work. But sometimes you work on your own which can be a bit boring. The work varies from being interesting to not so interesting but it is always good to learn

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have learnt bette teamwork skills by constantly working in a team in person and remotely, how to communicate with people better, built on my existing audit knowledge, built on my confidence and speaking in front of groups. Built on my skill of explaining and coaching tasks to people

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Is it very well organised and you always know what you have to do as the programme leaders always communicate these tasks to us. They sent regular emails to of instructions when necessary and remind you if you have not completed any outstanding tasks. Also, there is a timetable of key dates provided
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive the right amount of support, I dont really feel like I need too much as is it good to have some independence but I know if I was to reach out for help PwC would find the right person. I have a career coach which I can always reach out to, as well as programme leaders
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We receive a lot of support from our training providers as they the degree is well structured and the lecturers are always happy to help with any problems. Also, once graduated PwC ensure we have time off to ensure we pass our final exams towards our qualification which is good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Our qualification helps us perform better as some of the key subjects in the qualification go hand in hand with the work we are doing. For example we have a subject of audit and assurance which helps a lot with our audit profession. This really helps to know we are studying the right subjects
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Both at Pwc and whilst at university there are a lot of extra curricular activities for example at university there are lots of apprenticship socials. At PwC there are lots of extra curricular activities for example socials, running clubs, book clubs, excercise classes, balls, sports teams. This is great to have

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They are a good employer as they look after you, they make sure there are a lot of extra curricular activities, make sure you have a good support system, make sure you are learning and developing. They give you enough time to complete your qualification. All these things are very helpful
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
My tips would be that they are looking for people with good social skills and team work skills so if you have these you are well suited to working here. Also, to apply to PwC as they are a good employer and you will have lots of opportunities from working here
