Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
While working at PwC Audit I was assigned a client to work on which had a team of 15 people. Each day we were on client site together and were assigned tasks to do e.g testing Revenue. I had coaching from senior team members and asked the client questions.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
My programme involves spending part of the year at University and part of the year on placement. I enjoy this as it allows me to put what I've learnt at Uni in more context which ultimately helps in exams. As it is a fast track to becoming qualified as a Chartered Accountant it is an intense course and requires a lot of hard work. Despite this we still make time to organise course socials which helps us get to know the other years.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my organisational and communication skills as I had to be able to give updates on the progress of my work daily, ask the client questions and ask my team for any help I needed.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised. We are at University from Sept-Dec, then on placement Jan-Mar, then back to Uni Apr-Jun. This requires a lot of organisation from our lecturers to structure how they teach our modules and they have a lot of experience in how it works best. They keep us informed as to where we are up to with the module and are always asking for feedback for how we would prefer it e.g front load the content.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I felt supported during my time on placement as I was on a big team for 2.5 months, this meant that I could be open with them if I had any issues and they would help me. It was also helpful having a career coach who was assigned to us at the start of placement, I had monthly check in calls where I could talk about how I'm getting on and ask for any advice
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We receive a lot of support while we are at University in the form of daily lectures, workbooks and question banks. I find it helpful that our lecturers give us advice on what has worked for other students in previous exam sittings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I find it helpful that we do placement after we've been at University for the first term so we can put what we've learnt into practice. In addition, when we come back from placement for exams it feels like I have a better understanding of audit and accounting which helps in my exams.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
In the London office, we have industry groups which have quizzes, coffee catch ups and after work drinks which helps you meet more people at work and get to know people you might work with in the future.
