Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Overall I have to run shifts so that includes looking at people positioning, sales, labour food cost. Making sure areas are not struggling if they are I would need to step in myself or ask someone else to step in. I also have to interact with customers on a daily basis
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the program. I think it has a lot to it and it’s all useful. I have defiantly taken what I have learnt and use it in my job role and sometimes passed the knowledge onto other managers that may have been struggling and needed a little bit of guidance

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed many skills. So I have developed leadership skill and finding the best one for me. I have developed my listening skills as well as I do have to listen to customers carefully when they place a complaint in so that I know exactly what they want so I don’t get it wrong again

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think it is structured well if you have one learning coach through out. So I am now onto my third coach from the start and I don’t think it’s been well organised when getting passed over. But I think if I stuck with one person it would have felt more organised and we could have followed the structure and plan in place
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support. They give me the time in work to be able to get my work completed. They have helped me get off the job hours done when I have asked. And they have supported me well when at times I thought I couldn’t do it
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I think it’s mixed. I know they are there if I need to ask a question. But because I have had three different ones it’s been a bit hard as it’s having to get to know someone again and because they have a lot of learners I do feel because I have cracked on with my work I haven’t had much communication with them
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It has helped massively. I have taken a lot away from the qualification and things I have been learning and used them in my role now. It’s also good to see that I have taken the information in and that I can pass it to fellow mangers to broaden there knowledge as well
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
So within McDonald’s they do have a football team. So yearly they have a store v store football tournament so people can get involved and go and see if they can win us the title. There is a big group and a girl group and I think there is a mixed one as well

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend it because I do think it is a good place to work. You get to meet loads of new people and everyone is friendly. It’s a great company to work for as the pay is really good you get good holiday allowance as well as having extra days if you need them unpaid
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
I would say just be confident, and make sure you like working around adults and with customers as it is a lot about having people skills. Just be yourself as McDonald’s likes people to express themselves. Look into the company as well because you are working for a massive company and you have to have high standards
