Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is assisting with the sale/ exhibition coordination of Private Sales over the Post-War Contemporary and Impressionist/Modern art departments.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am really enjoying my time at Christies!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I defiantly have! I was taught a lot of the day to day admin tasks regarding contracts, shipping, tax, accounts, invoicing, compliance etc. from scratch.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I think that there is a structure around the apprenticeship but it can be flexible to each persons individual schedule - if they want to go quicker or slower depending on their workload at the time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My department has been incredible at giving me time each week for my apprenticeship work, and has made it very easy to move or change if necessary.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Multiverse are very responsive and helpful to any issues we may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Whilst there are many beneficial elements to the qualification (excel skills etc.) it doesnt largely apply to my role or assist in any of the daily activities I participate in. However you may enjoy it as a break to your usual work, if you choose to see it like that.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many groups, activities and socials that you can choose to participate in at Christies. Whether its running, Christies lates or evening events, or volunteering.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Christie's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think Christies is an excellent place to start, its welcoming, theres place to progress, good benefits, a group of peers to grow with, its safe with established boundaries. And if you are interested in sale coordination/art departments it will teach you how to do everything well from consignment to invoicing to exhibitions, which is very useful whether you choose to stay on or not after your apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Christie's?
Enjoy it and be straightforward about the department you want to be a part of in your interview (if you have an idea) but anticipate that you may end up somewhere different :)
