Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role includes greeting customers, ensuring that they are satisfied with their visit to McDonald’s. I also have to go around to customers and attempt to hood customer satisfaction ratings through food for thought reviews, which can be filled out with simple instructions from either me or their receipt.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme is amazing. I can do it in my own time and the deadlines are extremely easy to meet if you stay focused. I also feel valued at work while doing the apprenticeship and I am always given time and space during my work day if I need to catch up on any work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, throughout my experience working at McDonald’s I have gained many skills, not only from customer experience leader, but also when I was a crew member. I learned public speaking and confidence skills, while also learning the food and drink hygiene regulations which I have to follow while working.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program I am taking part in is extremely well organised and I always know what I need to do, with the help of my lifetime team member. I can also rely on aptem to keep me informed on what I need to complete and when it needs completing by.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As I said previously, my employer along with my employees are very supportive with my work, if I am behind or about to miss a deadline, they will be informed by my lifetime coach and they will ensure that I will complete it. May that be during a working day or a simple message letting me know.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel very valued while working towards my qualification and I will have monthly meetings around my progress and what I need to work on. The constructive criticism is very helpful for my progress to excel, they also check over every single piece of work I complete and mark it and leaving a comment
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Right from the start my qualification training allowed me to expand my work into more territories I would never usually touch because I wasn’t sure how I would approach them, however since beginning the apprenticeship, the work I am doing is helping me understand how to fulfil the roles I need to
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, at the moment I am organising many different charity events in aid of RMHC, some of which will include a football match, boxing event and a fun weekend for the children. I also had the great experience of going to a rmhc house a few months ago to see where the money we raise actually goes

Why?
McDonald’s is an extremely inclusive and extremely chilled out place to work, everybody has both, a great sense of humour and a really good work ethic. Employees are encouraged to excel and there is a great deal of room for promotion and growth within your employment at McDonald’s.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
Just relax, it really isn’t a scary place to work, yeah, it gets stressful but it’s one of those jobs that you don’t have to take home with you, you are payed a great wage and the work is important but easy. I would recommend this job to anyone
