Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I clean/test/process to ultra high vacuum levels parts that will go onto research systems, such as accelerators like the LHC at CERN, CLARA (our onsite accelerator) and ESS.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it very much, I find a great level of satisfaction from knowing that my work makes a difference to science research, as well as that it has taught me how to become better in many different ways as a professional worker and a person.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt so many new skills, not just with regards to vacuum and vacuum technology, but with life skills in general

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say that it is very well structured. The support network from my training provider is great, as well as the on the job support from my line manager, senior management and fellow employees.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I feel that I have a good level of support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They are always reachable by emails and often I'm able to schedule in meetings. I feel very well informed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It isn't all applicable fully, however, I woulod say that the vast majority of what I have learnt has been transferrable in one way or another.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are all sorts of residentials that come up. There are also exercise schemes and casual organised things that happen (such as football every Tuesday being an option).

It is a very relaxed and interesting place to work that allows you to become a better person in terms of professional skills, as well as interpersonal skills. It also allows you to feel involved and accomplished with the large scal research that happens.
