Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to assist the management team in the running of pub. I am responsible for running shifts, ordering stock, business paper work, ensuring staff are complying to company standards. I am also responsible for staff training and making sure new starters get the support they need to succeed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoyed having the freedom to learn with a schedule that suited me. My trainer was very accommodating in finding time around my busy schedule to book in appointments and deadlines. I also enjoyed learning and improving skills in an environment that I felt at ease with. Overall I had a really good experience!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
When I first started my apprenticeship I was just a shift leader. Using the skills I’ve learnt and the ones I’ve improve in I have successful manage to climb the career ladder and be promoted again. My trainer was super helpful and helped me improve on the skills I was struggling with.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I found it very well organised and structured. My trainer was very helpful in explaining my next steps and keeping me informed of upcoming deadlines. There was also lot of helpful tools and websites I could refer to to track my progress and to also access any extra information I needed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I’m very fortunate to work for a company who puts a lot of time and resources into making sure we all receive the support we need. This could be from extra training courses to ensure I’m fully confident. Or from different resources or support groups that are accessible if I need them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My trainer was always really accommodating and never made me feel like it was an issue. They always found a way to make sure we could fit meetings into my busy work/home life schedule. I took some time off for maternity leave and my trainer help motivate me and get me back into the swing of things once I returned.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification really helped massively in improving my performance. It helped me gain a better understanding of all the different components of my job. It also helped me gain extra knowledge of the business side of things which I used to in my interview to be promoted.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We don’t currently have anything set up in our workplace. Although there is network groups set up in other pubs nearby. I’m currently in the process of setting up lots of new and exciting events at my place of work. I am also using these events to also raise money for charity while also bringing in new people into our workplace.
