I am an essential link in the chain as Fulfilment Associate, working within a team to help the organisation work as a well-oiled machine. I am a Picker at Amazon EMA1 who is part of a much larger process, including warehousing, shipping and inventory management, to achieve excellent customer results.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the interaction between fellow aspiring Supply Chain Warehouse Operatives and the support, guidance and mentoring by our Trainers at Babington. I am proud to say that I took part in this program with Babington to work towards achieving my goal of being a Warehouse Operative.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I can now perform roles and responsibilities as an Outbound Problem Solve Associate, solving problems with products before they reach the customer. This is a significant role within the department because all customer shipments need to be reviewed before they get on the trailer in the Outbound docks.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Activities are clearly stated, but the learning must be more detailed, with clear evidence of how the learning should be conducted and how the learner's notes should be taken. Still, the structure of this programme is well-guided and contributes to a positive impression on me as a learner.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I work closely with my Team Leaders and Line Managers at Amazon EMA1 to balance Off-The-Job hours and time worked on processes within my department. Amazon allows me 20% Off-The-Job hours each week to work on assignments, projects and tasks for my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My trainer, is motivated and driven. I feel the support and his commitment to helping me achieve. Scott has taught me to aspire to greatness, believe in myself and my abilities, and continue improving my skills and chasing knowledge to remain an asset.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am now confident in my knowledge of my responsibilities covering safety, customer obsession, ownership, diving deep and maintaining high standards throughout my apprenticeship and the processes in my work department at Amazon EMA1.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are paid volunteer opportunities at Amazon EMA1 local to the site during shift work hours for Amazon associates. At Christmas, I was paid to volunteer for Charity work as Bow Bear for the Rainbows Children's Hospice Loughborough during the Rainbows Santa Run!

Why?
The apprenticeship has been challenging, but the Babington team has reached new heights! I am proud of each one of our trainers for never giving up and supporting all of us apprentices at Amazon EMA1. The work ethic that I saw from each of the trainers was terrific.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babington?
Before applying to Babington, familiarise yourself and research the apprenticeship and Babington as an organisation. Feel free to ask Babington questions if you need help understanding what is on offer for the apprenticeship of your choice.
