Finance Placement student Review

Working around different functional areas within Finance carrying out key duties such as:
- Strategic Planning & Financial Management
- Financial Accounting
- Asset Management and Recording
- Governance & Audit
- Administrative support

I have been working on various different scientific projects where I have been involved in assisting with the Project maintenance, monitoring of income and expenditure and forecasting, strategic Planning and reporting , Research Council, Service Level Agreement (SLA) management and grant administration , carrying out reconciliations, creation of projects, Revenue analysis, Creation and posting of Project and General Ledger Journals, Creation of Sales Invoices and supporting the Governance team on the internal audit programme.

This Placement has been a great opportunity to develop my financial acumen by working around different financial areas. I have been able to bring in practice my financial knowledge gained through the university education into such a huge industrial world. My job includes communicating with different professionals all around the industry including scientists, finance and IT professionals and people from various other sectors.

My Line Manager has been extremely helpful in making me achieve my goals and objectives through this Placement.

This placement has not only helped me achieve my career goals and objectives, but has also provided me a great opportunity to socialise and connect with people over various other sectors. I have been able to participate in several extra curricular activities including boot camping, football etc.
