Maintaining the User portals, with regular reviews and building on new areas, enabling our customers to be able to locate everything in one place and promoting their ability to self-serve.
Supporting the team’s regular tasks and processes including the GDW Transactional Classification Maintenance, Business Disaster Recovery, Space Management, Querybanding.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I feel extremely proud to have accomplished this programme as it was a challenging but rewarding experience alongside full time work and during a pandemic. The pathway I chose for the course was IT Strategy, which focused on Digital Leadership, Data Management, IT Consultancy and Managing Enterprise Systems as I have an interest in system improvements, solutions, project management and agile methodology.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

One of the major projects I have been involved with, was the implementation of a new ticketing system using Jira and Confluence, which improved the way users interacted with our services by focusing on group values of Putting People First and being Bold. Since its launch in 2021, it has now grown to incorporate the Enterprise Data Hub and is currently in the process of adding Model Maker.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I was really impressed with how well structured the course was, especially during the pandemic. Despite not all of the course being delivered face to face, the online sessions were still really interactive and engaging. It did not feel like we were missing out by not being in a physical classroom.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received so much support from my employer, especially my direct Line Manager. We have had regular 1-1s and check ins to discuss my progress and current work load as I had to put aside 20% for off the job work. The rest of my team were also very supportive by getting involved with various focus groups and discussions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received lots of support from my training provider Manchester Metropolitan University. My skills coach Paul was always on hand to answer any queries or issues I might have had regarding the apprenticeship side of the course. My lecturers for the degree side were also very supportive, especially my project supervisior Amin, who helped provide feedback for my synoptiv project in the final year.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like this qualification has definitely improved my confidence and leadership performance. I managed to gain a secondment promotion and then a permanent promotion to a higher grade role within my team. I have also become the team's resident SCRUM Master and I am hoping to explore more into that.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are some. There is a table tennis league at one of the Manchester offices and I believe there is yoga classes. I don't tend to go to the Manchester office often as my team is mostly in Bristol, so I travel down there a few times a year for the team social get togethers.

Why?
I would recommend Lloyds Banking Group to friends / family as a good place to work as it is very flexible to acommodate your work life balance. There is plenty of new learning opportunities and lots of encouragement to develop within your role, including volunteering as part of a Day to Make a Difference.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
If you are brand new to the bank, do a little research into the group, they always want to know why you are applying and it looks good to know you have learnt a bit about their history etc. Also for the questions you might be asked, if you don't have much work experience to relate to, think about how you can apply examples from an academic environment e.g from university or college projects.
