Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am on an apprenticeship programme in management consulting where I am studying for my junior management consulting qualification (JMC) and working in G&HI in a more experienced team. It is an 80/20 balance between working and study and my team are very supportive and understanding of my studies
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have been at the firm for half a year now and this has been my first full time role. It has been a fantastic experience and I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent here to date. I have met many new people and I have learnt lots of new skills. I look forward to my future here.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
During my team at PwC, I have learnt many skills and have significantly increased my network. I have used systems like excel, google slides and salesforce which is new to me, and my team have been incredibly supportive of my transition from school to a full time role at PwC.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well structured, we are given a calendar at the start that lists out all of the key dates and milestones which helps me plan ahead, as I need to be able to effectively balance my work/study across my two year apprenticeship course. Apart from this, the communication that I receive from my course team is great and they are always ready to answer any questions that I may have.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
As this is my first job, straight off the back of school, I have required a decent amount of help to help me get on my feet. I am in a fantastic team that is always happy to answer the smallest of questions and this has helped me settle in at PwC
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
My training provider has been hit and miss, I frequently receive poor communication from them and they obviously have issues communicating internally too. There has been frequent problems with the delivery of content and exams to us and although the issues are eventually resolved, there is often another to follow.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My training provider helps me learn about the world of work and outside of the exams there are a few days in the year where we learn about key skills that help us excel in the workplace. Although the training provider has it's issues, I can appreciate these days as it helps me better perform my day to day role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are countless social activities following work, networking teams and different societies to be a part of, I have been really impressed with the broad range of things to take part in. There are also 6 volunteering days per year where you can choose a charity and volunteer on that day for them.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have found starting work for the first time after college a scary thought throughout school but at PwC I have been welcomed with open arms and I feel comfortable in my team. It has been a great job to date and I find the work very interesting and rewarding
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
It is important to be yourself at PwC, speak with confidence and make sure to come into work with a motivated and positive attitude. Make sure to jump at every opportunity to network and meet new people as having lots of contacts will go a long way with succeeding at PwC
