Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I have a very reactive role where I monitor and manage incidents effecting all different aspects of the back. My role in incident management is to join calls and help find the cause of incidents which I will then relay to the rest of the teams in Barclays that need to know and also the financial authorities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have really enjoyed my program and have found it does fit in really well with my job and I am integrating what I learn into my job. I have also made some amazing friends from my programme who are really supportive and have helped me to better myself whether that's coursework or my actual role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Going straight from school into the work place meant I had to learn a lot of people skills very quickly as I was no longer around people my age so I had to change my language and the maturity of what I am saying. I have found this really easy as everyone on my team is so welcoming and friendly.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is really well organized I have a 1 to 1 coaching session with my Barclays talent coach every other month and the same with my multiverse coach along with this I have a monthly cohort call to update us on deadlines and events in or around the office.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I could not have been given a more support manager, she has been very supportive in giving me extra time away from the team work to meet all deadlines helped me to revise presentations I have had to do as part of my apprentiship and always checking up on me to see if there is any more she can do.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Once again my multiverse coach is also so supportive and helps me to set objectives which help me to strive for greatness. To begin with I had a couple problems with getting access to my GCSE results which my coach went above and beyond to sort out which he didn't need to do.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I have seen a lot of the techy skills I have learnt from my apprentiship can be easily applied into the work I have to do and I feel it has made me more efficient in my role which is beneficial for me as it means I am able to take on more tasks and learn more things within my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am very lucky to work in such a big campus with amazing facilities such as gym and an all weather football pitch which is used for a 5 a side teams within the campus. Along with this there are many events you can sign up to in the campus such as cooking classes and quizzes for charity.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have made so many great friends within Barclays who have made the transition into the working environment so much easier and stress free. I also feel so supported by my coaches and manager who I can tell really want me to strive and constantly push me to try and achieve the best I possibly can.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
Familiarize yourself with the organization and what they are about especially the 5 values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship) which are vital in how and why we do things. I would also try and gain some relevant work experience like I did I was very lucky that I already had a cousin working within Barclays so was able to learn both sides of the bank the business and tech side.
