Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an apprentice electrical fitter at Babcock, I have been taken into the facilites section so my normal working day would entail replacing lights and fixing anything electrical that has been broken or needs repairs on the site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I think that the apprenticeship programme is well structured and allows me to learn a lot more about my field of work, while picking up a qualification for it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
In my position, I have learned a lot more on how the electrical systems work and how to read them on a drawing. I have also gotten a lot better at communicating with my colleges and fellow apprentices.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I think the programme is extremely well structured as I will spend one year full-time in college then one year full-time on-site. I feel like this allows me to put all my focus in one area at a time and put in maximum effort in each of these fields.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer and I am always kept in the loop by receiving daily emails and by attending the monthly meetings that are scheduled for company updates.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications as I am in multiple teams so that I can get all of the class work. If I am struggling, you can ask a question and the training provider will help you out or another class mate.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel like my training from my training provider helps me in my role as when I am learning about how to make certain items, I am also told how to read the diagrams which help me understand the circuits when I go on-site in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
No.

Recommendations & Advice

Yes
Why?
I would recommend this company to a friend as you come out the end of the apprenticeship with a good qualification and a very good understanding of your role. I also feel like Babcock is a good company as you are constantly updated and if you need help, you always feel like you can ask.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock International Group?
I would recommend that you stay in school and receive good qualifications and then when it comes to the interview, stay confident and calm.
