Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to manage the artwork change process to get updated carton, leaflet, printmat, foil and shipper label artworks created and approved. My role collaborates with global regulatory contacts as well as internal teams to ensure compliance and to enable supply continuity to patients.
As an office based role, my day to day activities are responding to email queries, joining meetings and completing tasks in SAP and Gazelle.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I definitely enjoy my apprenticeship programme. I think that the Packaging Compliance Officer role suits me well, I feel that I am able to fully contribute to my team by not only completing my tasks but also simplifying ways of working and being involved in process improvements and problem solving. I find the university aspect of my apprenticeship very interesting and I enjoy learning about the different aspects of the supply chain and how the fit together, particularly in the pharmaceutical context.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed existing skills as well as gaining new ones over the course of my apprenticeship so far. I feel both supported and encouraged to take new opportunities for learning. Some of the skills that I have developed and grown are leadership, communication, IT/digital, problem solving, adaptability, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I find my apprenticeship rotations very well structured and thought out to support me in gaining both knowledge and experience, and they were clearly mapped out from the beginning when I joined. I think that the university programme and modules are well organised and the topics follow a logical order in mg opinion.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive support from many directions and people within my organisation. Firstly from my line manager, team and mentor, but also from the AstraZeneca apprenticeship network and the people in my wider team. Beyond that I am able to easily connect with and speak rib people across my department. and the site
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training providers for my degree are Leeds Trinity University and the Supply Chain Academy. To achieve my qualification I am completing coursework assignments such as essays, reports and project proposals as well as gathering evidence to support my achievement of the KSBs. I feel supported by the module tutors and the learning hub, although at times things could be made clearer.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think that the learning gained through completing assignments that investigate current processes. problems experienced or projects certainly help me to build end to end knowledge of AstraZeneca’s operations. I think that this helps me do well in my job role because it encourages me to be curious and also to make more informed decisions.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
AstraZeneca has many ERG (Employee Resource Groups) set up on the internal Workplace site that have events and activities to get involved with. I particularly like the AZInspire events for professional networking as well as learning about different areas of the business. I also enjoy the apprentice social events/meetings.
