Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role consists of streamlining tax processes using advanced developer software as well as building processes to complete complex tax calculations. I am also getting exposure to other areas of tax such as reporting and compliance which is more than I thought I would be doing in my first six months on the job.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed starting my role as I am highly engaged with important tasks and can see how my day to day workings and efforts are adding value to the company right from the go. Early careers have made a big impact with this too as they have helped make settling in easy and have put on many sessions to help improve key skills.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My communication skills have improved massively since starting my role - I have lead presentations in front of my team and had sessions outlining techniques on how to improve presentation skills. As well as this my organisation skills have improved. Time management is also a skill which is now much better than it was prior to starting my role.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is well structed in coinciding with studying my professional qualification. The early careers grad programme I am on is 2 years and my qualification is 3 years and extra time for experience. 2 years is plenty of time to help me settle in and engage with other graduates.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer supports me profusely with completing my professional qualification. They are keen to support me in my studies by allowing me off the job study time every day to continue with my studies. They are also allowing me study leave so I dont have to use my annual leave to sit my exams.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I do not think my training provider provide enough support. The tutors are excellent and help with any questions I have however I dont think the sessions are run frequently enough. I was expecting more contact hours and more resources to help me study towards my exams. Having a personal tutor is useful however.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification provides me with relevant knowledge on real life processes that happen in businesses. I find that having studied certain topics that come up in my day to day role gives me good context and a greater understanding of why certain processes are carried out. I can see why my qualification is relevant to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, early careers make a huge effort to organise social events so that all of the graduates get a chance to meet eachother and socialise. They understand that it is more difficult to make friends at work tha it is at university. They also hold many professional networking events focused on career development

Why?
They are a great employer and I feel that they value their employees. The environment is very friendly and progressive and the office space is a clean and productive environment. They offer good opportunities for career progression which is an important factor when applying for jobs so I cannot recommend enough.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Experian?
I would advise that you read the job description and company values before undertaking the application process. Practice psychometric tests before you take the real one just to familiarise yourself with it. Research advice for assessment centre days and make sure you are organised, punctual and well presented on the day
