Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
During the work experience we attended various sessions, one about commercial awareness, and others where we had the opportunity to speak with employees.
We were also tasked with a simulation activity where, in groups, we had to manage a faux trainer company, and attempt to make a profit by managing our funds. For example, choosing to put lots of money in marketing for a certain demographic, or giving ‘staff’ a pay rise to increase productivity.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It very much helped to clarify the roles, and opportunities, available to me. Being able to tap into the experience of people in the profession I want to enter helped to increase my motivation, and gave me a better understanding of the types of things I need to be doing now. These experiences can help me to be as well rounded, and experienced, as I can be at this stage of my life.

I developed my teamwork skills, as during the group task it was important to each contribute ideas about how best to manage our ‘company’. By listening to, and developing, each other’s ideas we managed to keep the company stable.
