Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Sale Coordinator Apprentice, my daily tasks include raising Purchase Orders, Stock Orders, raising client paperwork and sending to clients to be signed, ensuring that we have met our due diligence and all of our information is captured as accurately as possible. I assist with making sure that our sales are compliant, that we meet all the deadlines and that the sales are ready to run - a little bit like project managing, putting together all of the pieces!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have only been here for 3 months, but already I am thoroughly enjoying the programme. I had no idea what to expect coming into it, but every day is different and I have learnt so much more than I would have ever have imagined! The organisation itself has a wonderful ethos and I think being surrounded by people you are inspired by and having colleagues you can easily communicate and get along well with is so vital for the apprenticeship programme and so valuable when being exposed to the working world for the first time. I have already made amazing friends!

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes! So many new skills, on a daily basis, without even realising it! From the systems I am using, to industry terminology, the way the organisation operates, professional etiquette/communication, networking, further developing my social skills and many more!
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say it is well structured, although this really does depend on what department you are in as the way your work is structured can differ seasonally in certain departments as can be dictated by sales. For example, in my department, the nature of the work I am doing can differ largely day to day dependent on what the rest of my department is doing! This can also effect the time available to dedicate to the Multiverse apprenticeship work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive ample support from my supplier and feel as though I have many people I can go to should I ever have any concerns or need some help!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive ample help from my training provider and they are understanding when it can come down to needing to prioritise my department work during busy time periods. However, I would say that at times, communication between myself and my manager can be slow.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

So far, I do not feel that my qualification is translating to helping me perform better in my role and I do feel as though I am really applying what I am learning to my everyday work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are so many social events and opportunities to network at Christie's! This is one of the reasons I am enjoying my time here so much, especially as I feel as though the social side of things can be very important people our age, and Christie's places a lot of importance on this which I think is really valuable.

Why?
It is an incredible place to work and can open up so many amazing opportunities if you put your all into it! I think anyone could enjoy an apprenticeship at Christie's, you don't have to be artistic necessarily.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Christie's?
Do your research, and if you are passionate about art then definitely show that in your interview but this isn't vital. However, do show that you are open and keen to being educated in this area, as you will naturally be drawn to this when you are working in the industry. Although it is cliche, be yourself and be excited and open to all opportunities as you may find you don't get the role you had applied for. I applied for operations and was transferred to the art department and although it felt like an initial rejection, I changed my mindset, did the interview the following day, and have never looked back, there is no department I would rather be in! Trust the employers judgement!
