Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is an audit associate and it involved me working on different clients throughout the year. My job was to audit their financial statements to ensure that they a materially free from financial misstatement. I would be tasked with auditing different areas of the clients accounts such as revenue, PPE and payroll
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Over the past 3 years of my apprentice I have enjoyed my time very much. It has given me the ability to obtain a new qualification as well as build on plenty of new skills. It has also allowed me to make new friends and connections with in the finance world

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills during my time in audit. I have also developed on many skills during my time in audit. Many of the skills I have developed included communication, presenting, inter personal. The new skills I have developed include becoming proficient in excel as well as others

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well organised. All of my college days were organised for me and communicated on a spreadsheet so that is was clear on what days I was study what module. We were also organised time off from our day job to allow us time to study and sit the exams
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As mentioned above I received a large amount of support from my employer. All of college days were organised for me and all of this was regularly communicated to me. I also had support through my qualification from my career coach within PwC as well as my own kaplan mentor
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received a massive amount of support from my training provider. They provided us with a large amount of online resources to aid studying as well as offering mock exams which then went on to be marked by them. Feedback would then be given by kaplan in time for the exams
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

By obtaining a qualification in accounting it has given me a greater understanding for the job I perform on a daily basis. The qualification has drastically enhanced my technical knowledge and as a result has a llowed me to perform significantly better in my job role, allowing me to progress
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At PwC we are very fortunate to have a large amount of social activities along with many other events. The main social events I atent are: the spring ball, Sports day, the new joiners quiz and the Christmas party. I have also got involved in the leeds accounting society events

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Although the work expectation with in audit is tough, the people that work in the firm make the job immensely enjoyable. When you add that to the other positives such as the size of the clientele and the job security provided, PwC offers a very enjoyable work environment that is not replicated elswhere
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
I would advise performing research around the values of PwC to make sure that they align with your own personal goals. I would also suggest reaching out to people who work at the firm via linked in to get the first hand accounts of the role you are applying for
