Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Logistics Support Apprentice- I have a number of responsibilities to support the Logistics team including ensuring the correct Bonded Stock Forms are completed and signed by customers and Account Managers, processing orders for monthly invoices, managing the shared Logistics Billing inbox and assisting account managers with any queries they have.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I very much enjoy my programme. I think I have had plenty of support and I always feel like I am able to reach out at any time with any questions that I have and I will be helped and supported. I enjoy completing tasks and learning new skills as it makes me feel more knowledgeable in my job role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
The skills that I have learnt include how to answer emails from different people, how to send a Bonded Stock form, how to send a call-off form, how to book requisitions, how to chase Pro-formas and how to gather all the aged kit and send it to the AM of that customer.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very organised and structured as I know exactly what my tasks are and which ones I need to complete by a certain time. This helps me feel much more organised and allows me to work much easier. I give myself time frames in which I want certain tasks to by done by certain times which helps me feel a lot more organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I feel like I can always reach out to my employer whenever I have any concerns or questions and I will be assisted so that I understand how I can do something in the future. I think this is very important in my job role as I need to feel as though I can speak to my employer with any queries I have so that I can learn and progress in my job role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive plenty of support from my training provider as my trainer always tries to push me to work to the best of my ability and always makes me put the most amount of detail into my work allowing me to submit the best work that I can and push myself.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
As I have plenty of support from my training provider, I feel that I am able to work to the best of my ability and go into the most amount of detail in my work which helps me to break down how I work and what I do well and perhaps what I need to improve on which helps me in my job role as I have reflected on myself.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of social events and other activities that everyone at Softcat are welcome to join including celebration dinners and lunches, meetings, sessions and sports events. This is great for our company to feel more connected and to also get to know other people other than just at our desks.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Softcat to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think Softcat is a great place to work at as you are constantly supported as an employer and I always feel like there is someone to go to if I have any queries or questions and I am never just expected to know something. The apprenticeship training is great also as I feel like the tasks really help me to progress in my job role.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
Make notes as you are told how to do tasks, focus, speak to as many people as you can, make a good first impression to everyone as you never know when you might need to speak to them for work, attend social events and concentrate on your daily tasks, give yourself time frames.
