Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
On the degree apprenticeship, the majority of time is spent at university. Most days involve attending lectures and studying. We only complete work for PwC during summer or our year in Industry.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have really enjoyed the programme - I am so glad I signed up for it. At first I was worried about the work experenice, but I have enjoyed and apprectaied getting a real insight into the working world.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt lots of technical knowledge through the course of my degree, and plenty of practial ways to apply this in the buisness world during my time at PwC.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The degree programme is very well structured. There are set contacts in the university and pwc who reguarly contact us to ensure we are progressing and doing well. I have felt very supported. However, Leeds University itself is much less organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have recieved plenty of support from pwc, we all have a buddy (to help us socialise) and a career coach (for career advice). While in univeristy, we have access to all of pwc's resources such as private medical care and mental health support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We receive a reasnoble amount of support from university. However, strikes have meant we have missed lectures and not recieved coursework marks up to 5 months after submitting.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The knowledge I have gained in university is fairly applicable to the work. E.g. I have learnt about the hardware and software involved in implementing a Cloud platform in university, and in pwc I have helped clients move data to their own cloud.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many different socials at pwc, which is part of the reason i enjoyed working there so much! There are sports teams (football, netball, pool), informal lunchtime activities (take it in turn to bake etc), and loads of office socials with food and drink.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe pwc care about their employees. I felt very supported and enjoy working there. They ensure their employees are mentally supported (lots of mental health workshops), financially sound (cost of living pay bonuses) and happy (through many fun socials).
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Check out the PwC website - especially their core values! They are interested in people who have these values, so make sure you show you have them.
