Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
When at the business we are treated as a member of staff with our daily stand ups where we are given our tasks for the day, we then are in constant communication throughout the day with the manager regarding any work that may need doing or any meeting we should attend
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme a lot I think its unique structure (with block release as opposed to day release) allows me to both feel like a 'normal' university student as well as an important part of the business. I do feel like this program still has a few teething problems but overall I believe it will be a massive success

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes I have learnt many new skills both from the business itself i.e from other members of staff but also from externally provided accreditation e.g. microsoft/aws training to gain official certifications, it has overall been a great experience to be able to develop my skill alongside my study

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Our programme is well structured when compared to other apprenticeships as we have multiple points of contact for any related issues which is great but I do feel like this is the area which has been worked on the most in recent years and I think it will be massively improved for cohorts to come
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive plenty of support they are available whenever needed and usually reply in a few hours to any issues I am experiencing, they also are really good at being flexible with things such as university resits or any personal issues, they also offer a range of mental health support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive a decent amount of support as it is a full time degree it is just as if it is a normal degree except I have an additional point of contact in my degree due to being an apprentice, I feel like university in general is about individual study so I feel like this is difficult to answer
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
This is a major area of concern believe, through my training provider I am learning how to code in multiple languages and structure my code etc. but in my role there is very little if not zero coding so in that sense it feels very disjointed and not a smooth transition between them both
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of networking events to get involved with trips to places all over the UK as well as it all being fully expensed you gain so much valuable insight being able to soak up information from others higher in the business in a less formal setting. This is the best part of the job

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would and have recommended PwC to a friend, I believe they're flexible empowerment ('the deal') is one of the best parts of the job, it allows you to decide how much you want to work at home and in the office and even what hours you work (as long as you are available for all meetings). The culture is also amazing and it is very pro learning as well as being challenging enough to where you can get stuck in. The people honestly make the place
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
My advice would be to check out the employability hub in the website as well as attending either a virtual or in person recruitment session, I feel like through these you will learn if PwC is right for you and also gain some valuable tips for the recruitment process
