Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I cover many stations at work, such as taking orders from customers at the front of the store and in the drive through. I also work in Bev cell taking orders from customers and making drinks for deliveries, in store, and drive through. I also bag up food for deliveries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my apprenticeship programme as it aids me in further developing my skills. I enjoy being able to do my online working from home. I have meeting with my coach every month along with going to the work offices in Rotherham. I am very eager to continue my apprenticeship.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt and developed many new skills whilst working at McDonalds. I have developed my communication skills whilst at McDonald’s and I have also greatly developed my skills in working in a team of many different people. Finally I have also developed my skills in time management and swift service.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme that I’m on is very well structured so that there is a lot of support around my apprenticeship role. There are lots of people I can speak to about my apprenticeship and ask for help. My programme has work for me to do that helps improve my skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is able to support me as I go to the offices to do work every few weeks. I am able do do my apprenticeship work in a quiet place and am allocated time to do it in. I am able to ask questions about my apprenticeship to my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has provided a learning coach to aid me in completing my apprenticeship to its fullest extent. My training provider has tasks to complete each month that help me learn more about my workplace and apprenticeship. I will be having tests on what I have learnt so far before my end point assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that it helps me build on skills that I had from being in the workplace. It teaches about proper conduct and how to act in the workplace which leads to better performance in the workplace. The qualification in Food and beverage helps in the workplace because that is what McDonald’s sell.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At work there is the McOlympics which I think is every year when people from all different McDonald’s in ex animo compete in games in the summer. It was held last year at the Rotherham titans rugby club. Ex animo foods is also a sponsor of the Rotherham titans rugby club.

Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend McDonald’s to a friend as it helps with building social skills and teamwork among lots of people. It helps build lots of other skills in communication and confidence building. It is a fun working environment as I have lots of friends who work there which make the job easier.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
I would want people to not worry about starting at McDonald’s because all the stations are really easy to pick up and learn properly. After you complete your training shifts you will be ready to work on your own on any station that you have been trained to work in.
