3.4/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a PMO, or project/programme management officer. This involves completing assurance on projects / programmes and assisting with the day-to-day duties of programme or project managers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It's great, great work-life balance, you almost get to dictate your own day and what you focus on - I love it!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Many! BPP has provided some great webinars to educate, and I will be completing the CFA qualification (investment banking) which will provide me with many new skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It's okay... we have a structure from BPP but at times it doesn't feel quite as educational as I would like. I wish there was more content to learn.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots. Generally I am supported with my study days and I usually get to take them on the days I want to take them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We get weekly lessons in the CFA (or we will do), which is great, lots of resources on the hub to use also. The assignments have not been the best supported however, we have effectively been left to our own devices with these.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
CFA - amazing! This will really help. I think the level 6 apprenticeship will also look good on my CV.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I get lots of social activities and opportunities outside my usual day job, but these are with work - not the apprenticeship programme

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It's a great place to work! It feels like a family, I really feel like I am part of the wider bank. I do enjoy it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Try your best to learn the culture... from what I hear, it's not the same as what you'd expect from a bank (investment bank, to be specific).
