Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I go on out on a placement within the business that I must do work in order to collect evidence for my NVQ. I move placements every couple of months to work in different locations and gather different types of evidence all of which is applicable to my apprenticeship in derby.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
So far i have really enjoyed my programme and i currently just started my 3rd year of the apprenticeship. I would recommended it to everyone and it's worth a try even if your not a massive fan of engineering because i never was until i enrolled onto this apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many skills, most importantly hand tool skills where I'm constantly using a variety of on the engine. This includes using ratchets, spanners and certain tools which i never heard of before. i've developed my communication skills as on a daily basis i communicate with workers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is well structed but there is plenty of room for improvement within this apprenticeship especially in regard to derby college and their assignments. Some assignments get issued to late on the year and leaves the students with a backlog of assignments to catch up on, in the business it is well structured.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
i receive plenty of support from my apprentice development manager and my production leaders in the business, whenever i have an issue i can report it to them and they do their best to resolve my problem. it may not be instant because they can be very busy but overall its good.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I dont recieve the most support from my training provider but recently have started to recieve some support. this is done from 1 to 1 meetings in which we discuss my progress and areas of what i can improve on and in which areas i have done well, overall it's okay
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My training provider defiantly helps to improve my training as he can discuss on what i can do better in regard to my NVQ work. this ensures my work is completed to a high standard and that i maintain motivation through the duration of my apprenticeship which is a massive factor.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
During my work in the business i am constantly working in groups on engines since i'm an apprenticeship i cannot work by myself in the business and the employees ensure i do the work to a high standard. overall there isn't many social activities but we socialise because we work together.
