Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
My role as a Level 4 Technician is to act a linkage between the engineers upstairs and people working on the shop floor, this involves a vast variety of work from getting your hands dirty or sitting in an office working closely with engineers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
With any job you wont enjoy everyday of work, however throughout my time so far, I enjoy the programme that I'm completing as I am confident in the fact that Whatever I will learn or do is something that will benefit me in the future in both a work or everyday life scenario

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
From the apprenticeship so far I have learnt a lot of new skills, this includes how to complete and fix problems in a theoretical sense, but also new mechanical skills like welding or programming a PLC computer

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure for the programme is incredibly well maintained and set up, the contact between the apprentices themselves and their immediate superior is made well established and in the scenario you do require support with something, the correct set up is in place to ensure it is dealt with quickly and effectively.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support received from the educational provider and the company is very well established, this means that any issue that arises can be fixed and resolved properly and in the appropriate manner, if you have a specific problem then you will be directed to the best problem who can fix it in the best way.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
In terms of educational specific issues, the educational provider will always try and help you in the best way they can and get you the best outcome from the problem risen. Any educational problems will probably have a pre planned resolvent, if this is not the case or it doesn't work for you, they will try to find a way around it that works for you and themselves.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe that the qualification I am studying is incredibly important to the final role of my apprenticeship, this is because the role of a technician is often in a specific environment. When working in a specific area you are working on more in depth work, this means that you really do need the unique qualification.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Since starting the apprenticeship I have become friends with some amazing people where we will often do social trips within our group as well as attending recruitment drives and representing the company. Even though I personally do not attend any sport teams ran through the company or university, I am aware of people who do and know that they would recommend taking part in such things.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Rolls-Royce is one of the worlds best engineering companies who are leading innovations towards the worlds new ways of power production.
The support you have is above any other place of work in which I have been as well as the growth through the company as an employee seems to be much more realistic than what other companies can provide
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
I would recommend that people show their passions and if you are enthusiastic about something, don't hide it, be proud to have that desire to want to succeed in a specific field.
Show that when you want to do something, you will do anything to make it happen in the best way that you can, if you can't then don't be shy to say why you couldn't.
