Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have no current day to day responsibilities. I am left to my own devices and have no tasks I need to complete throughout my day other than occasional menial tasks (Setting up monitors, building desks etc)
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I wish I had more work to do on a day to day basis occasionally

4/5
I have learnt a lot of new skills in the software development area which will be vital for my future career

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The program seems to change every few weeks and we are left in the dark about a lot of decisions that could affect our future within the company (rotations, teams available)
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
If it wasn't for my line manager going above and beyond I feel like I would have little support from the rest of the company. Although they do provide us with resources if required

4/5
The university provides a lot of support with my studies and are always contactable if needed
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
My current role is not related to my qualification at all but I know in the future it will be
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a lot of extra-curricular activites although I don't frequently take part

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Although my personal experience hasn't been too great, I'm well aware of the great opportunities and experiences my colleagues and classmates have had here, my experience came down to luck of the draw and getting put in a home area not totally suited to my qualification
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
For my area in particular there is a heavy focus on automation and teamwork
