Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day to day job consists of working with the UK Finance director assisting him as well as the divisional finance heads with routine tasks like generating finance reports, team cost reports, top clients reports and more. I also investigate queries that are raised from members of the wider company and will work around the system to find answers for them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I really enjoy the programme as the Savills community is extremely welcoming and kind amnd they also encourage the apprentices to go out together as well as with clients to extend their connections and help them build their skills socially. I also think the apprenticeship is great as not only are you learning new skills, you are also getting the experience that you wouldn't get at university which will help you also in the future as your experience is an asset.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have learnt lots of new skills while working at Savills. Socially I have managed to improve my communication skills over the telephone, over email and even face to face. I also have developed skills on softwares that are brand new to me like AX Dynamics, Atlas and, TM1 Perspectives as well as developing my Excel skills further than what I had learnt prior to working for the company.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is very well structured, the company give me a nominated day once a week dedicated to studying which means i can focus on my work that i have been set for the week without distractions from emails and queries at work. Also it is great as I can get support whenever I want from my tutor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive lots of support from my employer, I regularly have catch up meeting with my line manager to makes sure that I am confident in the work i am completing and that I am up to date with college work and have a good understanding of what I am learning.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive lots of support form my training provider, I have weekly two hour meetings with my tutor and we go through certain aspects that we are struggling and answer questions to further develop our knowledge on topics we have recently studied and if we need further support outside of those meetings we can always email our tutor with our questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It helps me better in my role because as I learn about more topics from the syllabus i can then put that knowledge into practice in the work place so instead of just doing tasks i can understand why i am doing these tasks and the reasons why these certain problems may have arose originally.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are lots of extra curriculars to get involved in, we have lots of networking events with other members of different division, with the apprentices in the wider businesses and also clients. There are also lots of charity events staff can get involved in. We also have sports teams that anyone can get involved in like 5-a-side football and netball teams.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Savills to a friend as they make sure every member of staff is supported and happy in the work place and they also help to improve and develop many of your skills and give you great opportunities and life experiences that not many other companies can offer.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
My advice would be to just be yourself, be confident. Make sure you do that extra research and ask lots of questions so you stand out from other applicants. Things you could research are Savills culture and history and also it is a good idea to ask about how you can progress further to show that you have drive and ambition to do better and better.
