Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
On a day to day basis, I raise purchase orders for our customers in the Purchase Operations Management team (POM). I also support the purchase order management team by helping them complete their reports to chase ETAs from our suppliers and dealing with internal queries. This helps provide excellence customer service
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme as I have received a lot of support from colleagues and the apprenticeship programme. I am always kept busy but never overloaded with work. The team are lovely and the company culture is great. It has met my expectations well. The work itself is interesting and I learn a lot.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to raise POs on SAP using a purchase requisition. I have also learnt how to cancel POs when customers no longer need their orders. I have developed my level 3 qualification in business admin in the apprenticeship as I have just completed my mock exams, preparing for my End Point Assessment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very well organised. The training is not overwhelming because we are given breaks in between the sessions. We are given enough time to study so that we can get work done. I have had a lot of support meetings to make sure that I am on track
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I have regular 121s with my manager to see how my work is going. If I have a problem, then I know who to go to. Any problem I have is dealt with straight away. The general attitude towards supporting me is good.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider. We have monthly sessions to go over my progress. It gives me an opportunity to go over anything that I don't understand. I can also reach out to my tutor outside of my sessions if I am struggling with something.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
What I have learnt from my apprenticeship has helped me perform better in my role as it puts my learning into practice. I feel like I know more about the role while completing the apprenticeship. On a day to day basis, the apprenticeship helps me with my role as it helps me understand things better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many extra - curricular activities at work. We have a social team that organise football matches, walks and jogging clubs. There are also social events after work which include sports day, golf and meets ups at restaurants. There is also a yearly conference and summer event where you have an opportunity to network with other people.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Computacenter because it is a great company to develop your career in. There are lots of opportunities to explore different departments to see what is best for you. The company culture is great which makes you want to come into the office. There are also lots of social events.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
My application process was completed differently as it was during COVID. However, I would say to be yourself and also prepare answers to common questions that they may ask. I would also prepare questions that you would like to ask. My experience was great. I am happy that I have done this apprenticeship.
