Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Providing building and project consultancy to a range of commercial clients. This includes inspections, preparing reports and giving advice to clients about their property needs. This includes service lines such as contract administration, dilapidations consultancy, licenses to alter, reinstatement cost assessments, planned maintenance programmes, defects diagnostics and technical due diligence, among others.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme a great deal. I get a good diversity and range of work, and the pace is steady but fairly fast to always keep me interested and engaged. I find the work challenging but this adds a level of achievement at the end of a job. I have a great team supporting me and always have access to help and guidance when I need it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learn something new pretty much every day. The role builds on technical skills (such as building pathology, measurement, report writing and contract practice) as well as interpersonal and soft skills (such as communication, public speaking, leadership and teamworking, problem solving). Additionally, this role has vastly improved my confidence and presence through exposure to many people and settings.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme from the employer side is very well structured and has allowed me to have a gradual transition from novice to practicing professional. There is a great deal of training and support offered throughout the programme suitable for every level and a clear path on how to improve and progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much as I need and want, this includes access to knowledgeable experts in the business on technical issues and interpersonal and mental health support from colleagues and internal human resources teams. My employer has a vast benefits package that includes support for all areas of my life including family support, financial information and mental health and physical health packages.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My tutors and lecturers are all very helpful and there isn't much they won't do to support diligent and hardworking students to achieve their potential and goals. There is mechanisms for breaks in learning, mental health support and deadline extensions when difficulties arise and they are generally helpful in fixing any issues.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel my qualification helps me provide much better in my role by providing both a source of theoretical knowledge to form the foundation of my work, but it also provides a safe space to try new ideas and skills in order to enact them in real life jobs and situations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are endless amounts of extra-curricular activities to get involved in. These range from volunteering programmes with charities, networking groups to meet other professionals and clients of your level and others, and committees and working groups to raise your profile and enact real change both in the compony and the wider community. There is also a lot of sports and groups of that nature organised in offices for out of work activities.
