Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work as a People Change Consultant within the People Experience, Culture & Improvement team. My role is to provide support for People Change projects, utilising both project management and HR skills. I interact with colleagues across HR and Change. Current projects include Employee Experience, Performance Development and Talent Acquisition improvements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I thoroughly enjoy the units and tutorials. I embarked on these Apprenticeships as this is a profession that I am genuinely interested in and want to pursue further. I enjoy seeing how the learning compliments my day job. As a result of the Apprenticeships, I frequently professional publications, articles and blogs to further my knowledge.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
In 2022 I completed the L3 HR Support Apprenticeship and I have just begun the L5 HR Consultant Partner Apprenticeship. Both Apprenticeships have broadened and consolidated my HR skills. I have gained confidence in my work as I no longer feel that I am driven by instinct and instead my opinions are qualified by my experience.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The foundations of the programme are well structured however there is a requirement for the Learner to organise themselves efficiently, deploy time management skills and adhere to deadlines. There is enough flexibility within the programme to work around life and work commitments. Your Learning Development Coach is available for additional support and assistance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer provides support by allowing time to complete the off-the-job time requirement. They also assign work that will compliment my learning, for example with the project selected for my End Point Assessment. My employer is also available to me for any queries that I may have with assignments and general advice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider appoints a Skills Coach (Learning Development Coach) to support your journey, both with the CIPD qualification and the Apprenticeship requirements. My LDC (with L3) would often highlight relevant and interesting articles for me to read, enquire about my work load and mental load outside of the Apprenticeship and support with planning for the End Point Assessment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification brings me confidence in my decision making skills and emboldens me to share my thoughts. I contribute to the team that I am working with. I now feel that I have the theory to back up my experience and consolidate both into a career as an HR professional.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My company has a strong history of volunteering. There are many different Employee Resource Groups that are optional to join and offer support in terms of networking, tools for managing day to day and talks from experts. The building where we are based also offers a vibrant agenda of social activities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have found RSA to be a fair and caring company with an adult-to-adult approach in people management. They embrace a learning culture and there are many pathways to career development. RSA encourages authenticity and welcomes diversity. The reward and benefits offered are great. They offer a great combination of the opportunities that working for a large employer provide with the care of a family company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
Do your homework. Research the company and role. Ask how your interviewer displays the company values in their work. Ask lots of questions at interview to ensure that the company is right for you as many of our employees boast significant tenure, so once you're in you are likely to stay!
